*The LA Kings and Montreal Canadians have a deal in place that would send Frolov from the Kings to the Canadians. This deal has not been passed through the NHL offices yet as LA is waiting as they hope to acquire Ray Whitney or Slava Kozlov (from Atlanta) before the deal is complete.

*The Islanders GM Garth Snow is getting a lot of offers for goaltender Dwayne Roloson. The Flyers are believed to be very interested in the impressive forty year old net minder. Offers have also been pouring in for defense man Andy Sutton.

*Speaking of the Isles, Brendan Witt was also on the verge of being traded but was placed on waivers and sent down to Bridgeport after his agent informed NHL teams that Witt would not approve a trade unless given a two year contract extension.  Some teams had hoped to claim him on re entry waivers but Garth Snow has said he does not plan of that process occurring this season. Witt becomes a free agent July 1.

*Carolina WILL move Matt Cullen and Ray Whitney before the march 3 deadline. They also hope somebody takes Aaron Ward off of their hands.

*The Rangers have placed Donald Brashear on waivers. Brashear feels this is because he requested a trade. As far as my sources have told me it will be a miracle if someone takes him. Brashear is signed for next season as well. That second year is what has kept teams interest at bay.

*The Rangers have been offering Wade Redden and Michael Rozsival around the league with no interest at all. I have also heard they are trying to unload Matt Gilroy. Toronto, who tried to sign Gilroy before the Rangers did, have high interest. Corey Potter, who played 7th d-man on Wednesday night, has also garnered some interest. Was his ice time Wednesday an audition for the scouts in attendance?

*The Phoenix Coyotes have been trying to move the disappointing Peter Mueller. A rumored deal has him possibly going to Edmonton for forward Andrew Cogliano.

*Tampa Bay is looking to move Andrej Meszaros and Chicago is more than interested.

*The New Jersey Devils made a huge splash by acquiring Ilya Kovalchuck, but I have been told they have also inquired about Matt Cullen of Carolina and Peter Mueller of Phoenix.
