- My sources have revealed to me that Nationals Park in Washington expected to host the 2011 Winter Classic. The New York Yankees no longer want it. The radio host said "The Yankees pulled themselves out of consideration after Fenway officials have complained about the amount of damage the game does to the field and the NHL does not want to have it at Citi Field." The 2009 Winter Classic was expected to be at the old Yankee Stadium but sources have told me the NHL and the Yankees could not agree upon whether NHL season ticket holders or Yankee season ticket holders would have the first shot at tickets. The game was expected to be New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils.

-This Summer the NHL will consider various rule changes as they do every year. Here are some of the leaked proposals the league will look at:

*No touch icings*

*Eliminate the trapazoid and bring back the"Olympic" crease*

*Make shots to the head/neck an automatic game misconduct and suspension*

*10 minute 4 on 4 overtime followed by a 3 round shootout*

*Make a player serve the entire duration of a penalty no matter how many goals are scored*

*Change the points system. 3 for a win, 2 for an OT win, 1 for an OT/ shootout loss or 2 for win and 0 for a loss period* (THIS HAS TO BE DONE BUT KNOWING THE NHL IT WON'T BE CHANGED!!!)

In my personal opinion the only rule here I see any chance of actually being changed i the no touch icing. Everything else, believe it or not, has been on the ballot since the first post lockout GM meeting and nothing has really changed.
