The New York Mets have re-signed Fernando Tatis to a one-year, $1.7 million deal.

Tatis is expected to platoon at 1st base with Daniel Murphy. He hit .282 last season in 340 at bats with 8 HR and a .339 OBP. He hit into a few memorable double plays last season which drew the ire of fans, the same fans that were hoping the Mets would look another way.

There were other options for the Mets to look at but General Manager Omar Minaya felt this was the way to go.
