The New York Mets have signed Frank Catalanotto to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training.

This is a signing the Mets needed to make in order to bring in depth and leadership.

Catalanotto, 35, has the reputation of being a professional hitter and helping players around him become better hitters. Last season he bat .278 with 9 RBI for the Milwaukee Brewers.
