According to Efrain Zavarce from the Venezuelan newspapee El Nacional, the New York Mets have offered a minor league deal to former Angels pitcher Kelvim Escobar. Escobar, who has had shoulder problems in the past, hopes to pitch as a reliever in order to keep his career going. The Tampa Bay Rays are also very interested in Escobar.
