On a night of reunions and readjustments, the Knicks turned to Tracy McGrady, their recently anointed new star and asked him, sore knee and all, to save them.

It ended as one might expect, with an errant shot, a missed opportunity and another loss to the Boston Celtics, 110-106, on Tuesday at the TD Garden.

It was the Knicks' eighth loss in a row and their third since they acquired McGrady at the trading deadline, a move that was more about resuscitating McGrady's career than the Knicks' season.
