Antonio Pierce, New York Giants line backer has been released by the team. Pierce was a two time Pro Bowler (2006-2007) and was the Giants defensive captain; he would call plays and make on-field adjustments. Now that Pierce has been released from the Giants, someone else will be the defensive captain.

Pierce has found himself involved in problems off the field. He was recently involved in the Plaxico Burress incident, where former Giants receiver, Burress accidently shot himself in the leg at a New York City nightclub. According to reports, Pierce took the unregistered gun and brought it back to Burress New Jersey home. Pierce wasn’t charged and will be looking for another place to call home this off-season.
