The rest of Mark Sanchez's NFL career begins today at Morristown Memorial Hospital when he undergoes surgery on his left knee. Jets orthopedists Dr. Elliott Hershman and Dr. Ken Montgomery will perform the surgery, which is designed to stabilize the area around Sanchez's left patella. As Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum and Sanchez have indicated, the surgery will have Sanchez ready to participate fully in training, which begins in July. Because the recovery time is about two months, it is likely Sanchez will be limited in offseason organized team activities (OTAs) and perhaps spring minicamps.
