Back in march the New York Jets were scrambling for help at safety. Kerry Rhodes had been sent to Arizona and the free agent market was not an option. So when word leaked out of Philadelphia that oft-injured defensive back Marlin Jackson's meeting with the Eagles didn't result in a contract, it was a good sign for the Jets because Jackson's next stop was to be in Floram Park. Well somewhere along the New Jersey Turnpike the Eagles and Jackson both changed their minds and the former Indianapolis Colt was back in Philly signing a two-year deal. Jackson may not be playing for the Jets this season, but he won't be playing for the Eagles either as he suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in his right leg during practice on Tuesday and will more then likely miss the entire 2010-11 season. A five-year veteran who had spent his entire career with the defending AFC Champion Indianapolis Colts, Jackson has had each of his last two seasons cut short by knee injuries. Many are speculating that Jackson will likely call it a career and retire from the game of Football after this latest setback.
